Gobbler Grind 2026 Marathon Race Information

MARATHON DETAILS + COURSE
Races start near the building across from Founders Park with a 5K street loop to give runners space before hitting the trails. At mile 3.3, the 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon join the sidewalk trail briefly west, then head east onto the Indian Creek Trail for an out-and-back section.
10K: Retraces steps through Corporate Woods before finishing on the street.
Half Marathon: Turns around east of Quivira, then returns to Corporate Woods to finish on the street.
Marathon: Continues on an out-and-back section to 133rd & Greenwood, then heads to Mid America Nazarene before returning to Corporate Woods and finishing on the street.
All races feature beautiful fall foliage and scenic views along the way.
Trail Guidelines – Stay on the right side when passing runners and watch for white spray-chalked cracks on the trail.
Marathon Time Limit – The marathon has a 6.5-hour time limit.
If you cannot finish on time or sustain an injury, notify a first responder, stop at an aid station, or find a Garmin SmartPacer, and transportation back to the finish will be arranged.

Aid Stations and Restrooms
Aid Stations on the Gobbler Grind Course:Â
- All aid stations will have water and gatorade, select aid stations will have gels pending the distance you are participating in.
- Multiple aid stations at the 1.9, 4, 5.3, 7.3, 9.1, 11.3, 13.2, 14.6, 15.9, 18, 19.4, 20.6, 22.7, and 24.5-mile marks. GU gels will be provided at the 11.3 & 13.2-mile marks and at the 10.6 St. Andrew’s Christian Church aid station.Â
Restrooms:Â
- Start/Finish Restrooms: Located at the east end of the main parking lot.
- Port-a-Potties: Available at the 1.9, 3.2, 7.3, 11.8, 12.7, 14.6, 19.4, and 24.5-mile marks.
Garmin SmartPace Team
SmartPacers are an all star team of seasoned runners, specially trained to help you meet your goal. Line up with one of our professional teams at the start and we do our best to guide you to the finish on time. They pace with a proven SmartPace strategy, good clock management, inspiration, coaching and a lot of fun. Their love of running and positive personalities will help to make the most of your half or full marathon.
Our pacers are volunteers who are running with you because they know first-hand the the satisfaction that comes with finishing strong after you run a smart race. Your SmartPace team spirit will make the tough going fun during any condition!
The Garmin SmartPacing Team promises to help you have a great time while running a great time on a great course.
In the marathon, we will have pacers for the following times 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, 5:15, 5:30, 5:45, 6:00, 6:15, and 6:30.
Athlete Tracking, Results and Photos
The races will be timed using a standard bib timing chip technology. Participants can opt-in receive live tracking updates posted to Facebook, Twitter, or SMS Text Message when they sign up for race. Sign up for live tracking!
If you have not signed up for results sent to your phone, you can go to the results tent to look up your bib number and results.
Awards
Awards will be given in each distance to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as to the top three finishers in the following age groups:
19 & under
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60-69
70+
If you placed overall or first through third your age group, the awards ceremony will start at tent before you leave.
The Awards Tent will be located within the Finish Line Festival area close to the DJ. If you placed in the top 3 overall or in your age group go to the Awards Tent immediately to claim your award.
Don’t even have time for that? Friends can pick up awards for you. If you are unable to pick up your award at the race, and you are local to Kansas City, please contact us with subject line: GOBBLER GRIND AWARDS to let us know you want your award and you will have the opportunity to pick up your award at an agreed upon date, time, and location in town.
Awards will not be mailed unless participant would like to pay for shipping.
