In Honor of Miles Jacobsen. The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) is supported in honor of Miles, son of Runner’s Edge participant Dan Jacobsen. CBTF is dedicated to supporting families affected by pediatric brain tumors while funding cutting-edge medical research to improve treatments and outcomes.

Carly Twarog-Carnes Foundation
This foundation was created in loving memory of Carly Twarog-Carnes, a Runner’s Edge participant who bravely battled cancer and passed away in 2023. In Carly’s honor, the foundation supports the Crawford County community through cancer and addiction-related care, education, and general wellness initiatives.

CHAIN OF HOPE
Chain of Hope is a 501c3 grass roots organization with boots on the ground 7 days a week, focused on alleviating the suffering of abused and neglected animals within the urban core of Kansas City, MO. We formed in 2010 and have saved and improved the lives of thousand of animals in Kansas City, MO.
We provide necessary education, helping owners become aware of the crucial needs of their pets and promoting responsible pet ownership. We also provide medical assistance and free or low cost spay and neuter. Chain of Hope provides food, shelter, hay, ear gel, fly traps and flea & tick supplies for those in need. We rescue, rehabilitate, transfer and adopt out unwanted and homeless pets.
Chain of Hope’s mission is to reduce pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all pets and encouraging others to do the same. Our ultimate goal is to break the chain of ignorance, break the chain of suffering, and break the chain of unwanted litters.
